Last week deputies with Waller County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a deceased male at a Katy commercial construction site. Two juveniles have been charged in the murder.
Deceased Male Found at Katy Construction Site
Waller County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a deceased male on July 19, 2023 around 6:44 a.m. at a Katy commercial construction site near Jordan Ranch Blvd. and Kingsland Blvd. The male was found on the ground with a gunshot wound on the left side of his head.
The deceased male didn’t have identification.
After investigation, Waller County detectives arrested two juveniles on July 28, 2023 and charged them with murder.

It is important to note that this is the opposite side of Katy Freeway from where the Jordan Ranch community is. This is an area where many commercial projects are in development.
Continued Growth Raises Concerns
More and more master-planned communities such as Jordan Ranch in Waller County are bringing more residents and commercial development to our area.
The Katy area is made up of Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller counties with a small part of Waller being in the actual Katy area. As Katy continues to expand, this is expected to change and local officials have already expressed concern with amenities and services being about to keep up.
Waller County is home to Lamar Consolidated ISD, which just surpassed Katy ISD as the fastest growing district in Texas. This is proof to the immense growth in the area.
