A shooting occurred at Katy Walmart Tuesday evening. Authorities say that the incident was the result of a child custody dispute. A woman was shot in the leg but the child was unharmed.

For over a decade Hope Impacts has served the Katy area homeless population. Today they open a new office space that will allow them to expand services and keep helping those in need.

At last night’s regularly scheduled Katy ISD Board of Trustees meeting over 100 students were honored for earning the prestigious distinction of being named 2026 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The theme was “Unity in Purpose” as Katy ISD Superintendent Dr. Ken Gregorski and school leaders thanked and stressed the importance of the role that Katy families, local leaders, and the community. Student success, innovation and safety were all in the forefront of the State of the District.
