Play 60 Kid Fitness Event
First up this Saturday, August 5, 2023, Katy kids get active and learn about fitness in the Katy favorite Play 60.
"Play 60 is a favorite of Central Green guest. It is an initiative of the NFL to get kids up, out and moving an hour per day,” says Yvonne Arceneaux, Parks General Manager. “This play 60 at Central Green will be coached by professional athletes.”
The sign-up for this free and interactive event is at 8:30 a.m. this Saturday, August 5 with a 9:00 a.m. kick off.
“Whether your child is a gymnast, soccer player, baseball, volleyball or football player, they will benefit learning skills on speed, agility, conditioning and healthy habits,” says Arceneaux. “They will have an opportunity to learn tips from the pros and even ask questions and get autographs.”
Katy’s own Amobu Okoye is heading up the team this year. Okoye is a former Texan, Cowboy and Bear. He was offered a full scholarship to Harvard at age 15 and is the youngest draft pick in NFL history.
“Education is of the utmost importance to Okoye and he discusses this key principle with the kids at his Play 60's," says Arceneaux.
