Katy mom Bailey Colon had her apartment, Kingsland West near Kingsland and Barker Cypress, broken into overnight last Friday, but the burglary is an afterthought. Bailey’s three French Bulldogs were taken, and she is asking for their safe return.

“We arrived home at 12:50 a.m. on March 29 and when I went to unlock the front door, the door frame shattered in pieces,” described Bailey Colon’s boyfriend, Ian.

According to Bailey and Ian, all the lights were on, and everything was turned upside down. Even the kids’ rooms were ransacked, fortunately the kids were at their grandparents’ house.

“We instantly checked for our dogs in their cage and found that they were taken,” says Ian. “We are devastated and traumatized by this whole situation.”

Bailey has three French Bulldogs. Chickapea is a 2-year-old brown French Bulldog with light brown paws and white chest. Snow (small, white with grey spots) and Glo (grey/silver with brown/tan paws and tan chest) are a year and a half year old sisters.

“I’ve had these babies their entire life, they are my world,” says Bailey, who is devastated by their loss.

Bailey and Ian immediately notified police. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case. According to Ian, police were able to get video from the stairs at the apartment complex.

Video footage does show men, who covered their faces, run down the stairs with the dogs. Due to their covered faces, police told Bailey and Ian that the video will likely not be helpful in catching those responsible.

In addition to the taking the dogs, the suspects also took a safe and some firearms. Their apartment was the only one broken into that evening.

“We didn’t deserve this,” says Bailey. “We’re praying for our dogs to be safely returned home.”

Bailey and Ian are putting hundreds of fliers around the community and their social media posts are reaching thousands.

“We know these people must be hiding,” says Ian. “We hope that they will return the dogs.”

If anyone has information, please call Bailey at 713-502-5541 or Harris County Sheriff's Department at 713-221-6000.
