As our Katy community continues to grow, so does our entertainment and dining options. Recently it was announced that a Pappasito's Cantina is coming to Katy.

Katy continues to grow by great numbers. The addition of new Katy ISD schools and ongoing developing master-planned communities is proof to the growth. As more people and businesses come to the area, so does more options for dining and entertainment.

Recently, some new restaurants announced that they are coming soon to Katy. The Pappas Restaurant LLC will be opening a restaurant at the former Uncle Julio’s location at Westgreen and N. Fry Road between B.J.’s Restaurant and Bombshells. Construction will begin fall 2025.

"This expansion marks an exciting step as we continue to grow westward in the Houston area," states a spokeperson with Pappas Restaurant, Inc. "Our new Katy location will showcase our classic Pappasito's design along with some fresh updates. Guests can look forward to a spacious patio, two private banquet rooms, an expanded dining area, and a U-shaped full-service bar. The iconic Pappasito's rocket will be featured on the exterior, adding a familiar touch (see attached rendering), and the menu will feature the full selection that our loyal Pappasito's guests know and love."

A popular restaurant from Houston is also opening soon in Katy. Burger Bodega will soon be opening at South Mason and Franz Road. They are known for their Smashburger concept.

Another franchise favorite, Fogo De Chao is also joining the flood of new dining options to Katy. The popular Brazilian dining location is set to open at Grand Parkway and I-10 next to Costcos.

Portillo’s known for their Chicago-style hotdogs, beef burgers, and salads is now open near Katy Asian Town off of I-10.

A major retail center is currently in development at 99 and 529. Phase 1 of the Elyson Town Center is set to open this summer and is projected to surpass LaCenterra is size at completion with three-phases planned.

The Elyson Town Center is being developed by Realty 1 Partners and Phase 1 is a planned 290-000 square foot mixed use space complete and a shared green space for community activities. Currently contracts have been signed by Shipley’s Do-Nuts, Akashi Sushi, Smoothie King and DECA Dental.

Negotiations are ongoing with Chipotle, Dave’s Hot Chicken, First Watch, and Tune Up Manly Salon. Many other eateries, medical users, and shopping retailers are in negotiations and will remain confidential until contracts are signed.

Elyson Town Center is directly across from Katy’s newest Target that has a CVS Pharmacy inside. On the same side is also Burlington, the newly opened Whataburger and Chick-fil-A. Coming soon is a Taco Cabana, Visionworks, and Mattress Firm. HEB also owns land adjacent to Burlington but plans of breaking ground have yet to be released.

Some new businesses have already opened in front of what is to be the Elyson Town Center such as an urgent care, Taco Bell, Salata, and McDonald’s.
