Five migrants were found inside a Katy 18-wheeler this morning suspected to be part of a human smuggling attempt. Deputies with Harris County Constable Ted Heap’s Office responded to the suspicious activity call this morning.

Suspicious Activity Reported
Deputies with Harris County Constable Ted Heap, Precinct 5 responded to a suspicious activity call early this morning to the 1400 block of Vander Wilt Lane in Katy.
Five Individuals
There they found a parked 18-wheeler with five undocumented individuals in it. According to authorities, the deputies provided the migrants with food and water before turning the case over to Homeland Security Investigations.
Homeland Security Investigations is still conducting the investigation and the US Attorney’s Office will handle any criminal charges.
