Katy’s most historic event returns this year and the city is looking for enthusiastic volunteers. The Katy Rice Festival’s 44th year promises to be an event of fun and time to celebrate Katy with the addition of new events.

Katy Rice Festival to Introduce New Attractions

New this year, The Katy Rice Festival will add an arcade, bingo hall and mutton bustin. These new attractions will replace the carnival.

The Ultimate Family Event

The Katy Rice Festival, hosted by the City of Katy in partnership with the Rotary Club of Katy, is a first-class, family-friendly event featuring quality arts and crafts vendors, excellent live music and food options, beer garden, kid zone and more. The two-day event also features a rice cooking competition and student arts competition.

100% of the proceeds from the Katy Rice Festival go back to the community in student scholarships, donations and to local charities through the Rotary Club of Katy.

“We are adding so many new attractions this year that we will need as many volunteers as we can get,” says Kaci Maris, City of Katy Tourism and Marketing Event Coordinator. “Our new attractions include the arcade, bingo hall, mutton bustin, and so much more.”

The City of Katy is looking for enthusiastic individuals to help with the city’s main event. The event takes place October 12 and 13, 2024.

For the first time, the Friday before the festival (October 11)l will be a Volunteer Appreciation Party and Orientation. Volunteers will have a special night to meet with committees, walk the grounds, and enjoy catering from Texas Roadhouse.

Committee assignments are subject to availability, but there are many opportunities to work with any kind of schedule.

Volunteer sign up is open online. The city asks that individuals apply separately and not to register multiple people under one account.

The registration deadline is September 27, 2024. Get ready to be part of the fun and historic Katy Rice Festival.
