Food for Families, a Katy ISD Partners in Education yearly initiative, unites the Katy ISD staff and community in holiday support for select students and their families. Last year, Food for Families raised and distributed $108,000.
“The Food for Families program provides direct support and hope for families of students in Katy ISD,” says Karen Lewis, Executive Director of Community Partnerships. “Grocery gift cards, along with a note of support from the Katy ISD community, are delivered to each student by a campus staff member. The "School's Out" Food for Families campaign is especially important in supporting families in need over the summer break.”
Support from Community
Katy ISD identifies the students who will benefit from the Food for Families program. This year, their goal is set to reach over $40,000. Since its inception in 2003, Food for Families has raised over $562,000.
The Partners in Education team collects donations from the community and corporations and converts them into grocery store gift cards. Then a campus staff member delivers the gift to the student along with a note of support from the Katy ISD community.
Every Katy ISD campus participates in the program so it effectively supports student need across the district.

It’s awesome to see programs like this stepping up to help students in need, especially during the summer when resources can be scarce. Ensuring kids have access to meals is such a crucial part of supporting their overall well-being and helping them succeed in the long run. I remember how overwhelming it can be trying to juggle everything, especially when you're in school or handling important responsibilities. During my nursing program, I often found myself struggling to keep up with assignments, and that’s when nursing writing services really came through for me. They made things way more manageable when time was tight!
Having read this post, I feel compelled to express how touching it is to witness the community pulling together to provide assistance to people who are in need. geometry dash
