The Terrell family, of Katy's Firethorne subdivision, has invited the community to their son Radyn Terrell's Celebration of Life this Friday. The three-year-old died Sunday from injuries he sustained in an accidental shooting.
Celebration of Life Details
Family, friends, and the Katy community will celebrate the life of three-year-old Radyn Antonio Terrell Friday, June 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Second Baptist Church West Campus (19449 Katy Freeway) His mom, Rudi Terrell shared the information publicly.
Accidental Shooting
Radyn Terrell apparently found his father's loaded .38 caliber gun on a high boy dresser and pulled the trigger. The bullet hit his face near his eye.
The young boy was life-flighted to a nearby hospital and his mother took to social media to ask for prayers and support. After doctors ruled out any brain function, Radyn passed away on Sunday.
Love, Strength from the Start
Radyn was born at 33 weeks on December 23, 2015. From the start he showed everyone his strength and love. According to his obituary, Radyn loved to dance, travel, and be the center of attention. "Through all of our family gatherings, he always found a way to entertain everyone through his dancing and his love for music," his family says. He recently learned how to swim at a family vacation at the Disney resort in Hawaii. However, his family and spending time with them was what he loved most.
Radyn's Message Lives On
The Terrell family has permitted the creation of an endearing memorial t-shirt to honor Radyn's life and celebrate their child's love for Jesus. The words on the shirt are taken from a video excerpt where Radyn spoke to his mom about Jesus. All proceeds will go to the Eddie Eagle Program that teaches children about gun safety.
Radyn Terrell's parents met as Katy High School students and are beloved members of the Katy Tiger community. The shirts were promoted on local Facebook group The Katy Train, a Katy Tiger fan group, and the link has been shared by many people in the community.
