Two weeks ago, Hurricane Beryl made a direct hit to the Katy area that created damage and widespread power outages. Here’s what’s happening today that can help those impacted.

When category 1 Hurricane Beryl came to Katy on July 8, 2024 it caused widespread power outages and damage including a lot of debris. Agencies are still working to address resident concerns over power outages and the debris pick up continues today.
Have Your Weatherhead Replaced for Free
CenterPoint Energy and Houston Habitat for Humanity are working to collect names of homeowners who need their weatherhead replaced before CenterPoint can restore their power.
This will be a free service that is normally the responsibility of the homeowner. If your weatherhead is damaged email Kevin Vargas at kvargas@houstonhabitat.org. He will need your name, address and phone number.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season goes through November 1, 2024 and experts continue to warn those along to the coast of a concerning and active season. The fact the Hurricane Beryl made history of being the earliest named storm in a season to make landfall backs up this concerning claim.
