Two Katy ISD Board of Trustees seats will be contested this year. Both Susan Gesoff and Dawn Champagne seek re-election, but they have competition.

Susan Gesoff, the current Board Secretary, will run to keep her Position 6 seat on the Board. She has five challengers in the election - Katy’s Garima DasGupta, Bonnie Anderson, William X. Branch II, Joseph Wojcik, and Rebecca Fox.

Rebecca Fox has previously served on the Board.

Dawn Champagne also seeks re-election to her Position 7 seat. She has one challenger, Walter Butler.

The deadline to file to be on the May election ballot has passed. Early voting runs from April 19-27. Election Day is May 1.

The Katy ISD Board of Trustees is made up of seven Katy residents and serves as the policy-making body and the trustees for the people and the public education in Katy.

Currently, Ashley Vann is president and Lance Redmon is vice president. The Board also includes Duke Keller, Leah Wilson, and Greg Schulte.

Also, on the May ballot will be a new bond to help Katy ISD address the continued growth in the District. Learn more about the bond here.
