One of Katy’s greatest holiday traditions will return this year. LaCenterra’s Tree Lighting event was canceled last year due to the pandemic. This year’s event promises new features and activities for Katy families to enjoy.

A Long-Standing Katy Tradition
For 14 years the Tree Lighting tradition at Katy’s LaCenterra has launched the holiday season for many Katy families. The popular event returns this year after it was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tree Lighting Event Details
LaCenterra will host the annual Tree Lighting event Friday, November 19 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event will usher in the holiday season with new additions and activities.
Guests can enjoy a real-life snow experience with two large snow slides. The new activity, sponsored by PUCCI Café, is sure to be a hit with Katy kids.
Holiday vendors including many community vendors will be onsite for a fun shopping experience among the Christmas lights.

New Activities Join the Tradition
The OMG Mobile Gaming truck will be there with interactive games for all to enjoy as well as a very festive selfie station where guests can capture their holiday spirit.
It wouldn’t be an event at LaCenterra without music. Hybrid 7 is set to perform.
Santa will Light the Tree
But the biggest guest will be Santa himself! Santa will light the 51-foot Christmas tree in Heritage Square. Pictures with Santa will not be available during the event this year, but guests are encouraged to come back for Storytime with Santa where photo opportunities will be available. Storytimes will take place in Heritage Square on Tuesdays and Saturdays from November 30 – December 14.
