Katy’s part-time and full-time preschool programs provide the town’s youngest residents an academic head start. Some are still accepting enrollment for this year.
These schools were selected based on a Katy Magazine led discussion on the Katy Moms Facebook group. Click the Preschool name to be directed to their website. (Centers are listed in no particular order.)

One of the only preschool programs accredited by the NAEYC, Katy's ECEC is known for their excellent staff and nurturing programs with a focus on providing a quality preschool education in a loving environment. They provide year ‘round programs and extended hours for the convenience of working parents, and also have programs for infants and toddlers.
Katy's ECEC is known for being very hands-on and innovative, with some of Katy's top childcare experts, including owner, Nicole Istre, who has been in the early education industry for over 25 years.

Little Ranch Preschool describes themselves as “an outreach for Christ to our community and church family by loving, nurturing and teaching children to know the awesome love that God has for us all.” They strive for each child to feel positive about themselves and the world around them and to experience God’s love through loving relationships and happy times at school in a Christian environment.

Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church preschool has a popular academic and Christ-centered program that has established quite a following. Their curriculum covers a well-rounded choice of unit/weekly themes, covering science, math, arts, language, pre-reading, music, and motor experiences.

Kids R Kids has multiple Katy locations but each is owned and operated by local residents so the sense of community is maintained and a primary focus. Kids R Kids offers preschool as well as before and after school childcare. Childcare options are also available for toddlers not in the preschool program.

Holy Covenant focuses on the principle that children learn best when they are actively involved in their world. They are known for having an excellent staff who provide consistent learning in a happy Christian environment. Activities are planned to stimulate growth in their developmental areas and the children attend chapel once a month.
Holy Covenant also offers a transition class for 5 year old. This class is created to help give students extra time and tools to better prepare them for kindergarten wherever they choose to attend. They are also NAC accredited.

Treasure Cove uses modified versions of Horizons, Quirkles (science), and Learning Without Tears. Their curriculum is activity-based and child-centered and encourages creative expression, invites conversation/communication.
Treasure Cove’s program incorporates both group activities and independent learning tasks in the area of education, art, music, and story time as well as many opportunities to share Biblical truths.

St. Peter's ECDC is a popular preschool that operates as an outreach of St. Peter's United Methodist Church. In 1987, St. Peter’s ECDC became the third early childhood program in the Houston area to become accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is a voluntary accreditation system that sets professional standards for high quality programs for young children.
The child led and play-based curriculum allows teachers the flexibility to tailor instruction and activities to the interests, creativity, and curiosities of the children in the classroom. All age groups get to attend special classes that include music and motor skills, chapel, and Spanish class.
St. Peter's does have availability for the fall.

Crosspoint offers a part-time preschool program for 2-4 year olds, as well as an additional afternoon curriculum that ends at 2:30 p.m. Their programs prepare students for their kindergarten and transition (Year 2 Grow) program. The students regularly attend chapel where they may worship and receive an encouraging message.

Trinity Spiral School is a Spanish Immersion preschool with a Montessori curriculum. They offer before and after school programs as well as camps during the summer.
Trinity Spiral recognizes that all kids are different and focuses on creating a program that works for each student.
Katy Schools with Multiple Schedule Options
Katy offers both part-time and full-time preschool options that can fit both the stay-at-home and the working parent. Schools like Primrose, Goddard, Children’s Lighthouse, and British Prep also offer good programs that will prepare kids for kindergarten.
