Coach of the Year
At this year’s Texas Girls Coaches Association annual banquet, three Seven Lake’s High School athletic coaches were recognized with the prestigious Coach of the Year.
Volleyball Coach Amy Cataline, Cheerleading Coach Amy Weaston and Sub-Varsity Cheerleading Coach Hailey Hann received their Coach of the Year plaques at the banquet in Arlington.
“To receive this recognition, especially during a school year that included many challenges for our student-athletes demonstrates our coaches' resilience to finish whatever the team set their minds to,” says Debbie Decker, Executive Director of the Katy ISD Athletic Department.
Each year coaches from across the Lone Star State aim to be named a recipient of one of the organization's coveted recognitions. The Texas Girls Coaches Association is one of the largest associations of coaches and the largest association for coaches of girls’ athletics in the United States.
“Aside from being coaches, these three individuals serve as mentors to their athletes and encourage them to aim high both on the court as well as in the classroom,” says Decker.
Katy starts fall classes on August 18.
