For 33 years The Arc of Katy has provided opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that enable each person to be included as a respected and active member of the community throughout their lifetime. Next month they will recognize volunteers, Community Champion and celebrate their service to the Katy area.

Tickets are on Sale for Viva The Arc of Katy 2024 Fiesta
On February 16, 2024, The Arc of Katy will recognize their Community Champion and Volunteers of the Year in an event full of fun and a silent and live auction to support the organization that does so much for the Katy area and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. “In addition to recognizing these individuals for their significant contributions to The Arc of Katy in recent years, we will be celebrating with a festive meal, entertainment, and activities,” says Ann Ferner, media contact for The Arc of Katy.
The event, Viva The Arc of Katy 2024 Fiesta will be held at Palacio Maria (21728 Highland Knolls Drive) on February 16, 2024 from 6:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.
Those to be recognized include:
Community Champion- Rooms to Go
The Arc of Katy Ann Davis Founder’s Award Recipient- Houston Junior Forum
The Arc of Katy Volunteers of the Year- Mary and Marvin Keller
Fiesta attendees will be able to support The Arc of Katy by bidding on silent and live auction items, participating in a wine pull or The Arc of Katy Fund-a-Need.
In addition, attendees will be entertained by performances from The Arc of Katy Day Program Participates and view a video about the programs and services provided by the organization.
The Arc of Katy offers many programs to help those individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Arc of Katy programs include:
An adult day program for adults with IDD who are no longer in high school, held from 8 am to 3 pm five days a week from September through May.
Summer day program sessions for adults and teens age 16 and older with IDD, held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. five days a week from June through August.
An online virtual day program held Tuesdays and Thursdays each week as a supplement to the in-person day programs (launched in response to the covid pandemic).
Be Strong activities available to The Arc of Katy’s in-person teen and adult day program participants to promote physical fitness and good health.
Monthly weekend social events for adults and teens age 16 and older with IDD.
Empowerment Through Knowledge education programs for caregivers, educators, family members, and open to the public.
The Arc of Katy Cares community service activities.
Other opportunities for participants and families to participate in community events.
