A Houston rapper is behind bars after deputies found a handgun and drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Katy. The arrest occurred in the 1800 block of Barker Cypress Rd.

Deputies with Constable Ted Heap’s Office arrested Sidney Wiley, a 36-year-old Houston rap artist Thursday morning after confiscating more than 1 gallon of suspected drugs and a handgun from his car. Deputies found 10 bottles of what is believed to be liquid codeine cough syrup, along with a handgun and one and a half pounds of suspected marijuana.

Suspect Had Open Arrest Warrant

The arrest took place at about 4:30 am Thursday morning, January 30 at the 1800 block of Barker Cypress, about a mile from Mayde Creek High School. Precinct 5 deputies found Wiley to have an open felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Rapped As Psyco Sid

Wiley performs in Houston as the rapper Psyco Sid, not to be mistaken for wrestling star Psycho Sid. According to his Facebook page, Psyco Sid has six songs out and started performing in 2011. His song "I'm Ready" spent a week on the Top 10 Rap Charts in 2012. His last show listed was in the summer of 2018.

He collaborated with many Houston rappers from S.U.C. members Big Pokey and Lil KeKe to Propain. In 2016 Hip Hop Vibe, a site dedicated to reporting up and coming rap and hip hop artists projected that Psyco Sid would be Houston's next rapping star.

Authorities say further criminal charges may be filed against Wiley after testing on the suspected drugs in complete.
