Over 30 Agencies to Attend Katy Area Safety Fest for Family Fun and Education

This Saturday is the 8th annual Katy Area Safety Fest, an event that fosters a sense of community while promoting safety awareness. Over 30 local, state, and national agencies are set to attend and host a variety of hands-on safety activities and demonstrations.

The 8th Annual Katy Area Safety Fest is this Saturday

The Katy Area Safety Fest is this Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Katy Mills Mall from 10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. The events 8th year promises to be bigger with more safety information and hands-on experiences all aimed to help Katy families. This event aims to empower residents with the knowledge and resources necessary to create a safer environment for all.



Learn How to Make Katy Safer

Admission is free and all members of the Katy community are encouraged to attend.

"Katy Area Safety Fest plays a crucial role in our community because it brings together residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and first responders to foster safety awareness and preparedness,” says Johnny Mitchell, Board President. “It reinforces the idea that safety is a collective responsibility, and by educating and engaging our community, we strengthen the bonds that make Katy a safer and more resilient place to call home."


Katy families can tour safety vehicles from over 30 different local, state, and federal agencies. In addition, medical, law enforcement, and military helicopters will make appearances.


There will be safety demonstrations where Katy families can witness live demonstrations conducted by professionals that will educate attendees on life-saving techniques.


Some popular activities are trying to navigate a course wearing “drunk goggles” and let your teenager try to ride a tricycle while texting.



Connect with Safety Organizations, Community Leaders

This is a great opportunity to connect with your local safety organizations and community leaders. Doing so can help enhance the Katy area safety network.


Katy Area Safety Fest will also have a Kid’s Safety Zone with games and educational activities. There will also be food vendors and entertainment for all ages.
