Last year, two Katy women launched a new nonprofit designed to motivate and lift up Katy students and beyond through a simple, kind act. Through motivational post it notes, Post It Love is inspiring students one message at a time.
“This is an important mission because we are helping build the future leaders with the tools of compassion and encouragement,” says co-founder Kelsey Bridgeforth. “With better grade attendance, academic achievements, and self-worth instilled into every students, then the world could be its best self!”
Currently, Post It Love meets every Tuesday at The Ballard House (21421 Cinco Park Road) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Volunteers are encouraged to register online in advance.
Volunteers are needed to create the post it note messages, sort, stamp, and package them for delivery to one of the 12 Katy schools participating.
“All students have a chance to be their best selves,” says co-founder Jelita Bridgeforth. “We are filling the gap where love and encouragement may not be and where it bridges the gap from at home to their environment.”
Post It Love has the ambitious goal to distribute over 82,000 notes to students.
Volunteers can come as groups or individuals. Volunteers can also earn community service hours when participating.
Post It Love was founded last Valentine’s Day and is really growing. They are looking for new space to meet and craft their notes with love for students. Follow their website as they continue to grow and become a movement set to motivate and inspire students.
