Katy’s Central Green Park Launches Hispanic Heritage Events, 10th Birthday Bash

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in numerous free, family fun events at Katy’s Central Green Park. Dance to the sounds of live music and enjoy festivals and more. The popular entertainment spot celebrates 10 years next month.

Katy's Central Green Park to Celebrate the Hispanic Culture

Hispanic Heritage Month runs September 15, 2023-October 15, 2023, but the party will start later this week in Katy. Central Green Park (located in LaCenterra) is set to host five free events perfect to celebrate the sounds and food of the Hispanic culture.

“We have celebrated Hispanic Heritage month every year Central Green Park has been in operation,” says Yvonne Arceneaux, Willow Fork Drainage District’s Park Director. “Living in the most diverse county in America gives us the opportunity to celebrate all the beautiful and wonderful things each culture has to offer.”

Katy’s Central Green Park is a half-acre public park dedicated to giving Katy families events like fitness classes, free movie nights, live music, and more.

Central Green Park, developed by Willow Fork Drainage District (WFDD,) is located at the south end of LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. It is a true entertainment destination close to shopping dining, theaters, and libraries. The park provides a multi-purpose venue for many standing weekly events, monthly events, special events, and more.

The fun starts this weekend with live music, a night filled with Latin hits, Tejano, and rock music.

Saturday, September 9, 2023- Live Music with Nueva Vida- 8:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
Friday, September 15, 2023- La Flor Symphony- 8:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 17, 2023- El Sistema Texas- 7:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.
Friday, September 22, 2023- Movie Night “Fernidinand”- Dusk
Saturday, October 7, 2023- Venezuelan Festival- 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.

Central Green Turns 10 with Big Festival

The Venezuelan Festival with also be a celebration of Central Green Park’s 10th Birthday. The event is going to be a day filled with vibrant culture, delicious food, and incredible performances.

“We celebrate five cultures a year, and our birthday bash always has a theme,” says Arceneaux. “There is a large population of Venezuelan’s in Katy, who bring a lot of joy, energy and fun to our community. We want to share their love for life with everyone.”

The rain date for this exciting event is scheduled for October 16, 2023.

“We invite everyone to come together and experience the rich heritage of Venezuela,” says Arceneaux. “This is a chance for the community to connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories.”
