It’s Thanksgiving week and time to embrace the giving spirit and say thanks for all that we have. Take some time to clear out the home ahead of the holidays and consider giving to one of Katy’s many non-profits and toy drives.

Many Choices to Give this Season
Katy is home to many non-profits that are constantly working to meet the community’s needs. The numbers of those Katy families in need to continue to rise.
Hope Impacts provides support for Katy's homeless community and they are always accepting donations. Since the start of the pandemic and the economic situation, they continue to see an increase in the area homelessness.

You can donate and shop to give back to the work that Katy Christian Ministries is doing.
Katy Christian Ministries was founded 35 years ago with a mission to help transform lives. Now, the organization serves more than 8600 households in Katy and its surrounding communities. KCM has to resale shops in Katy. Proceeds from the sales of donations go to support KCM projects and programs that provide immediate and long-term crisis interventions and counseling for victims of domestic and sexual violence.

Clothed By Faith gives a week's worth of clothes to those in need in the greater Houston/Katy area. They only accept new or gently used clothing- think about how the items will give dignity to those in need.

Please bring clothes clean and folded in a bag. They will not accept items in a box or on hangers.
The Ballard House provides housing for patients and their family members who have come to the area to receive medical treatment for a life-threatening illness. The Ballard House is always seeking donations to supply and operate their 20,000 square foot hospitality house.

The Fort Bend Women's Center assists survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and their children. The non-profit group helps their clients to achieve safety and self-sufficiency and strives to prevent violence against women. They offer a 24-hour emergency hotline at 281-342-HELP (4357).

Goodwill offers multiple drop-off locations in the Katy area. This year they celebrate 75 years of service.

Goodwill and Dell have partnered to form RECONNECT, where residents can donate old computers and computer parts that will be refurbished or recycled. Any brand computer is accepted and can be taken to any Goodwill store or donation center.

Share Your Holidays Food Drive and Chief Santa Toy Drive
This annual drive hosted by ABC 13 benefits the Houston Food Bank. Participating fire departments, including Katy area ones, are accepting food and toys now through December 10th.
Santa's Sleigh Program
Each year Katy Christian Ministries allows Katy families to "adopt" a child or senior in need to help bring them holiday cheer. Sign up to be matched to a person in need today and learn about this program.
Santa Cops
Katy ISD Police Department will run their 21st Santa Cops drive this season. Campus counselors identify Katy students in need. Then local businesses, organizations, and families can sign up to help spread the holiday cheer. For information on how to help contact Katy ISD Police Department at 281-237-4000.
Many local churches and businesses also accept donation and toy drives during this season. You don't have to look far to find ways you can give back and make a difference to someone during this month of giving thanks.
