SCHOOL REGISTRATION
New this year, Katy ISD requires all students, new or returning, to be registered online through the PowerSchool Registration program. Parents can visit the Katy ISD Online Registration page and receive instructions on how to create a new account, or update their current Katy ISD student's information. Again, registration through the PowerSchool program is REQUIRED for all Katy families.
Must haves to enroll your new student in Katy ISD:
Proof of residence (See Residency Requirements on Katy ISD's website)
Official birth certificate or passport
Social Security Card for your child (if SSN provided)
Government issued Identification Card of the person registering the child.
Proof of immunizations (see Immunization Requirements" on Katy ISD's website)
Report card or transcript from the school most recently attended, including 8th grade records if enrolling in high school.
Enrollment Authorization Form – use when parent cannot come to enroll the student and is sending someone else in his/her place
Application for Determination of a Minor's Residence - use this when the student resides with someone other than the parent
COUNTY OR CITY SERVICES
Katy, Texas is what we call a tri-county area, because residents here are served by no less than three counties - Waller, Harris, and Fort Bend. In some places, neighbors in the same subdivision fall into different county boundaries, so that means you should know exactly which city or county you reside in because all your services will depend on that answer.
Most people who live in Katy have a "Katy address" but do not qualify for city of Katy services because they don't live within City of Katy limits. Only about 1/4 of Katyites actually live in the City of Katy so it's important to know which county you live in.
