Katy ISD invites parents and community members to an online Legacy Parent Academy session tonight that will address the comprehensive safety and security measures that are in place across the district.
Public Webinar is Tonight
Tonight, October 16, 2024, Katy families and community members are all invited to a free webinar that will address the comprehensive safety and security measures that are in place across the district.
Seven years ago, Katy ISD launched the Legacy Parent Academy as a way to educate parents by raising awareness on various academic and wellness topics that impact students. Topics have included the fentanyl crisis, teen mental health, adjusting from middle school to high school, etc.
All sessions are free and open to Katy parents and Katy community members.
The webinar is tonight 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ruben Martinez, Katy ISD’s Director of Emergency Management & School Safety will speak on the topic of school safety and what our district is doing to keep our students and staff safe.
Parents and guardians will learn about the district’s safety protocols, emergency procedures, and security measures. Visitors can register to attend with this link.
“The safety and security of our students and staff is foundational to all that the district does,” said Ruden Martinez. “We all can work together to make sure that our schools and buildings are safe learning environments.”
