This Saturday over 120 Indie authors will be in Katy for the second Author Indie Book Fair, the largest of its kind in Texas.
Over 120 Authors Coming to Katy Book Fair
Over 120 self-published authors will be in Katy for the second annual Author Indie Book Fair. The event will be this Saturday and is free and open to the public.
The Author Indie Book Fair is this Saturday, October 12, 2024 at The British International School of Houston gymnasium (2203 North Westgreen Boulevard) in Katy from 10 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
"By supporting self-published authors, you are supporting the independent voices in literature,” says event organizer Joseph A. Schiller, a local Indie Author himself. “Since the Author Indie Book Fair is exclusive to authors based in Texas, your patronage at the event goes directly to supporting the growing body of fabulous authors in the great state of Texas."
Authors are all Texas-based and all genres will be represented. The event is family-friendly and 100% indoors.
For Texas YA Fantasy author C.H. Smith, this is an event he looks forward to each year.
“The founder of Author Indie Book Fair has done an excellent job bringing a wide and diverse group of authors that cannot be found together at any other event,” says C.H. Smith. This year the event will be truly special as it falls on his birthday.
Smith uses his stories to help young readers and adults to cope with tough subjects. “I hope young and old readers alike can enjoy and learn from my quirky little stories,” says Smith.
Local Author Set Out to Make a Better Event for Authors, Readers
“The genesis of this book event was that I found that nearly all indie author events were charging far too much for any of us to make a decent profit, and were, in some cases, charging the public for entrance,” explains Schiller. “So, I set out to offer an event that minimized what I didn't like about other author events and maximized what we wanted in an event.”
