The holidays present the perfect time to make families memories. With beautifully decorated homes to tour, festivals, craft markets and of course, Santa Claus, Katy has something for kids of all ages. Bundle up (if we're lucky enough for it to be cold) and scope out these awesome events close to home!

Cougar Stars Holiday Home Tour

Cinco Ranch High School Cougar Stars Dance Team

Thursday, December 5, 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Friday, December 6, 6:00pm – 10:00pm

This special tour consists of 5 homes beautifully decorated for the holidays.

Taylor High School Holiday Home Tour

Thursday, December 5, 5:00pm – 9:00pm

Friday, December 6, 10:00am – 2:00pm and 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Visit Katy homes decorated with holiday lights, trees and garland. Choose from three different touring sessions.

Tickets are $15 if purchased ahead of time, and $20 if purchased on the day of the tour. Get tickets at the Senior Office at Taylor High School, or from Hauerland’s on Mason Road.

 

Christmas Heritage Tour and Cookie Walk

5:00pm – 7:00pm

For this evening of fun, pick up a special box for your cookies at the Katy Depot between 5:00pm and 6:30pm, then head over to Heritage Park. At each home, you'll collect cookies to fill your box while enjoying the unique Christmas decor. Each tree is decorated by a different Katy business.

City of Katy Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony Katy City Hall

901 Avenue C, Katy

Thursday, December 5 6:30pm - 8:30pm

The Mayor’s annual tree lighting ceremony will take place at Katy City Hall in Historic Downtown Katy.

This special family event features live entertainment and a showing of the cult classic holiday movie A Christmas Story. Enjoy a whole evening with live entertainment from a local choir and dance company, hear a Christmas story, and don't forget your Christmas lists to send back to the North Pole with Santa! Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Donations for Marine's Toys for Tots drive will be accepted, and should be new, unwrapped toys.Bring your friends and family to kick off the holiday season with the Katy community while enjoying hot chocolate and cookies. Don’t forget to take pictures with Santa!

Cinco Ranch Ladies Club Nutcracker Christmas Fundraiser The Club at Falcon Point

Friday, December 6 11:00am - 1:30pm

Join the Cinco Ranch Ladies Club for their annual fundraiser luncheon in honor of the Ballard House of Katy. Guests will have the opportunity to give back to a great organization that gives so much to others in need during a time of healing.

There will be live Christmas music, a silent auction and fun Christmas festivities. Bring a friend - the more the merrier!

Come enjoy a plate of pancakes with Santa at Katy Fire Station 1. Plates are $5 (purchased at the event) and help raise money for KPFFA and KTfirefighters Scholarship Fund.

 

Brookwood’s Christmas Open House

The Brookwood Community welcomes guests for this weekend of family fun, shopping and Christmas spirit! The residents will perform their Christmas pageant on both days in the Reynolds Cafetorium at 10:00am and 2:00pm.

Lunch buffet will be available at the Brookwood Café from 10:30am-2:00pm, with no reservations necessary. The Gift and Garden Centers will be open from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Guests are invited to take a self-guided campus tour any time between 9:30am - 3:00pm and get a stamp on a passport at each stop to receive a special gift.

 

Open House & Holiday Market

Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP)

The Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) host their annual Home for the Holidays Open House & Holiday Market at the CAP Animal Shelter & Pet Adoption Center. The event features fee-waived adoptions, Santa photos, fresh baked sweet treats, refreshments, and a festive holiday market.

A portion of the proceeds from the holiday market benefit the homeless pets at the shelter.

The CAP goal is to find homes for 75 pets in only one day, and to collect pet supply items to continue caring for those who still need help.

If your pup made the “nice list” this year, bring them over to Rover Oaks Katy to meet the big man in red himself! A $20 donation benefits CAP (Citizens for Animal Protection) and space is limited.

Cardiff Junior High Holiday 5K Fundraiser Cardiff Junior High

Cardiff Junior High will be hosting their first Holiday 5k Walk or Run! Dress for the festive occasion in an ugly sweater, Santa hat or your favorite holiday pajamas.

After the event, take pictures with Santa, enjoy live caroling from the choir students and ornament making!

All funds raised directly support students and families in the community and Katy ISD Santa Cops.

10th Annual Katy Old Fashioned Christmas Festival

Come shop and play in Downtown Katy!

You’re invited to the 10th Annual Katy Old Fashioned Christmas Festival in Historic Downtown Katy with 50,000lbs of snow for the kids! The festival will feature food trucks, entertainment, a beer garden hosted by No Label Brewing Co., petting zoo, and face painting. Shop in the “market” for produce, arts and crafts, antiques, clothing, accessories, jewelry, gifts and handmade goodies.

The snow arrives at 11:00am so everyone can play!

Proceeds for this event benefit Katy Christian Ministries and Hope Impacts. This 3rd annual event includes vendors for shopping, plus live music, food trucks, a Kids Zone and pictures with Santa Claus.

Visit Dewberry Farm to select and cut your own Christmas tree to take home! Your family can also take a wagon ride through the Trail of Lights or tour the Christmas Village before having a picture taken with Santa Claus in the giant snow globe.
