ORGANIZATIONS

Austin Pets Alive

Rescued over 2000 displaced hurricane pets that were lost in the storm, swept away, or saved from other shelters that were flooded.

Best Friends Animal Society Helped night and day with pets in need and is also assisting with animals in distress in Florida.

Boy Scout Troops 209, 230, 424 Mucked out houses, provided cleaning supplies and manpower for helping those in need.

Christ Clinic

Provided free medical care for families for several weeks after the hurricane. See the story here.

 

Environmentally friendly and socially sustainable, Westrock Coffee has relationships with farmers and is helping to make lives better. Available at Kroger and Bed Bath & Beyond in Katy. MORE INFO

 
 

Clothed by Faith

Served 7,000 individuals and worked countless hours providing clothing to impacted famlies. See the story here.

Hope Impacts

Opened a temporary homeless shelter to keep street friends safe. Accepted and delivered donations including helping a family refurnish their home after losing everything in the floods. Sourced furniture for displaced people.

Gotta Run-Training & Conditioning Program

Organized people to muck out many homes, provide meals to displaced families and organize laundry fairies for flood victims!

Hurricane Harvey Book Club

Book club on Facebook where kids read books and parents posted videos to keep kids spirits up during the storm.s

Junior Girl Scout Troop 127014

All 8 girls (age 11) volunteered to help our community during this disaster. They volunteered and donated in a variety of ways. Baking, delivering meals, helping K9, buying supplies.

K9 Angels Rescue

Donated 175 crates to the convention center shelter, went to Harris County Shelter during the storm to help care for the animals at the facility and clean.

Katy Cares

Partnered with local organizations and churches to aid in relief and recovery efforts, provide fun and entertainment for affected families, and more.

Katy Christian Ministries

Katy Christian Ministries had an amazing outreach and were incredibly organized even though their home base had flooded out. It was impressive to see one group of volunteers cleaning out the property while the other stayed organized and passed out donations!

Katy Disaster Response

Set up a communication portal for the community to get access to numerous resources and kept it continuously updated.

Katy Moms to the Rescue Group

Gave out 392 bags of clean clothes and new underwear (not to mention car seats, pack and plays, diapers, wipes, shoes, socks, etc) to 392 children.

Katy Mills Mall Served as a home base for multiple rescue operations for military, pet rescue, donations, and more.

Katy PALS Katy High School organization that helped with muck out and home repairs.

Lone Star Smoke Syndicate

Cooked BBQ around the clock for two weeks serving food to first responders, workers, and raised thousands of dollars to feeding thousands.

Rotary Club of Katy Mucked out homes of local Rotarians as well as others in the community. They helped replenish meat freezers at Katy Christian Ministries/KCM as well as helped Christ Clinic Katy financially while they were giving tetanus shots. Food was also provided to volunteers.

The Katy Train Community-run Facebook page that helped organize donation efforts, rescues, volunteer services, and news updates.

West Houston Jeep Club and West Underground Jeep Club

Transported about 100 people across high waters and out of flooded areas.

Young Men's Service League, Katy Chapter Mother son teams packed and washed dishes from affected homes, did laundry, loaded trucks, made meals, and assisted with demo, while other YMSL members assisted at Katy Christian Ministries, Eternal Food Ministries, and Clothed by Faith, as they geared up to support the Katy Community.
