In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Harris County Constable Ted Heap with Precinct 5 is holding his annual pajama drive for victims. New pajamas for women and children can be dropped off at many Katy locations.
Helping with Basic Necessities
"We collect new pajamas for women and children that have to flee their homes," says Constable Ted Heap. "Often times these families have to flee their homes in these situations in a very short amount of time. They often don't have time to grab basic necessities they need, much less something to sleep in." Heap says receiving pajamas during a domestic violence crisis brings women and children a little sense of security.
Drop Off Locations
Through the month of October, drop off boxes will be placed at all precinct 5 substations as well as the precinct headquarters located at 17423 Katy Freeway. Boxes will also be placed in 11 different area Starbucks.
