Clothed By Faith, a local non-profit is seeking help in meeting their goal of filling 450+ clothing requests before Christmas. They recognize that this time of year is hard, but stress that a few hours of your time can make a huge difference.

I think the need in our area is growing,” says Katy Branch Manager Laura Freeman. “We are one of the only organizations that do what we do I think that more people are learning about us.”

Clothed By Faith (CBF) accepts donations but urges Katy families and residents to volunteer.

“I think volunteering with CBF is a great way for parents and teens to connect throughout the year,” says Freeman. “Some of our volunteers make the bags of clothing for our clients.  It is always challenging when your kids are adults, but you have to make a bag for a teenager.  It is helpful to have their point of view on what is cool and hip.”

Volunteers can help sort, fold, and hang clothes.

“I think if you are volunteering with your child, you can get more information about them by asking them what they think of a particular style or brand,” says Freeman. “And, because we are such a volunteer driven organization, I think it is nice to show teens how just a couple of hours of their time can make such a huge difference in the lives of people needing help.”
