Cinco Ranch Library Opens Costume Swap Donations

Cinco Ranch Branch Library will help Katy area parents reduce waste while staying creative this Halloween season. A costume swap will allow families to “re-spook, re-wear, and re-scare” while not spending money on a costume children may only wear once.

Starting today through October 10, families can drop off costume donations to the Cinco Ranch Branch Library (2620 Commercial Center Blvd.) from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Take outgrown costumes from newborn sizes to adult to the first floor Information Desk.

"We've done other swaps such as plants and crafts and the community has really loved trying our new things without spending an arm and a leg," says Sandy Johnson with Fort Bend County Libraries Marketing and Cummunications. "Halloween costumes can get pricey, so this is a way for families to save while having fun this season."

For every donating costume families will receive a voucher to return for the Costume Swap on October 12.

On October 12, anyone with a voucher will have early access to browse costumes from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. After that time, the general public will have access to select costumes until 3:00 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public.

The library asks that donated costumes are freshly laundered, free of any tears or damage and bagged with all accessories.

Cinco Ranch Branch Library provides free events for children, teens, and adults. For more information on their first Costume Swap or any other events, visit their website or call 281-395-1311. They are also on Facebook.
