Historical Warbirds to Flyover Katy’s LaCenterra for Veterans Day Event

Historical war birds will fly over Katy’s Central Green Park in LaCenterra Thursday evening in honor of Veterans Day. Honors those who have served with patriotic music and services for local veterans.


Tomorrow is Veterans Day

Patriotic festivities will be out in full force tomorrow, Thursday November 11 at Central Green Park in LaCenterra. The event is 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Historic War Bird fly over from Wings of Houston at 5:00 p.m. during the National Anthem.




“Guests will see the missing man formation honoring those that lost their lives serving our country,” says says Yvonne Arceneaux, Willow Fork Drainage District’s Park Director.


Local Musicians Take the Stage

Local artist Kris Beane will sing the National Anthem followed by short speeches from local veterans including a veteran from WWII.


There will be a brass band and Katy’s own Sam Smith will perform. Smith launched his professional career 7-years-ago on the Central Green Park stage at 14 years of age.


There will also be booths advertising local services and non-profits that serve Veterans.

For over 8 years, Central Green Park has served the Katy community as Willow Fork Drainage District’s signature public space. The park is located within LaCenterra and opened in June 2013.

From special events to community gatherings, the Central Green park brings people together across its open lawn area with access to free parking, shopping and dining at LaCenterra.

Events include yoga, live music, tai chi, Spanish classes, and more.
