Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the popular Katy Taste Fest has evolved into an exciting new concept - Katy Taste Crawl. Patrons have access to valuable coupons to enjoy appetizers at Katy restaurants, while supporting local charities.
For $30 a ticket, patrons can experience the Katy Taste Crawl at their leisure. Participants can order select appetizers at 15 different Katy restaurants until May 31, 2021. Proceeds from the sale of the tickets support local charities whose goals are to end hunger and produce zero waste in the community.
“The restaurant industry has been devastated by our new reality because of COVID-19," says Cyril Thomas, Katy Taste Crawl event chair. "When we were faced with the tough decision to cancel the 2020 Katy Taste Fest, our board came up with a creative format to support the local restaurants that we love so much.”
The approximate value of 15 appetizers on the Katy Taste Crawl is $120. Each appetizer ranges from $6-$8. Patrons are only allowed to redeem coupons one time and are not required to visit all 15 establishments. There is no minimum purchase necessary, but appetizers must be ordered via DineIn.
Coupons must be redeemed by May 31, 2021.

“Since we can’t celebrate in person, Katy Taste Crawl is a great alternative to discover new dishes at your convenience, whether at the restaurant or grab it as take out and enjoy it in the comfort of your own home,” says Thomas.
Organizers of the Katy Taste Crawl remind diners that when they eat at a local restaurant, the money spent goes back into the local community rather than a parent corporation in another state. Many local restaurants also source their ingredients from local farms and suppliers. This activity creates jobs in the local community and promotes zero waste as the food doesn’t travel as far to reach the plate.
Proceeds from the Katy Taste Crawl will be donated to the Armor of Hope Foundation, a 501c organization. Donors will receive an email with their tax-deductible receipt.
Since 2017, Katy Taste Fest has contributed over $75,000 to local charities that include: Krause Children’s Center, Katy Cares, Helping Kids Ministry, Armor of Hope, and Westside Homeless Prevention.
