For 10 years Central Green Park has brought the Katy community fun with their Back to School Bash. The excitement returns this weekend.
10 Years of Fun at the Park
The Katy community can find fun, live entertainment, vendors and so much more at this years 10th Anniversary Back to School Bash tomorrow from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Central Green Park in LaCenterra (23501 Cinco Ranch Bld.)
“Going back to school or starting the school year can be filled with excitement,” says Yvonne Arceneaux, Willow Fork Drainage District’s Park Director. “It can also be stressful to some students. The Back to School Bash is a fun atmosphere for kids to meet some of the student they will be going to school with, build excitement for the new year and let them see opportunities that will be available to them.”
Katy’s Central Green Park, located in LaCenterra, is a half-acre public park dedicated to giving Katy families events like fitness classes, free movie nights, live music, and more.
“Our booth vendors offer opportunities to parents and students such as learning a new skill, information about a career, or flourishing in the arts, helping others, getting support they need and building relationships,” says Arceneaux.
The Back to School Bash (August 3, 2024) will feature two stages as the event hosts student bands and student performers.
Performance Schedule:
7:30 p.m. Maddie Kress will make her professional debut
7:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Z Alpha
8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m RPM
Each year families can find numerous booths all geared to assist with back to school needs. This year, 15-year-old student Zach Robinette, will feature a business he started with 3D printing.
Other booths include:
Sunshine through the Rain a non-profit that provides support, encouragement and builds confidence for children who lost both parents will be on-site educating the public about the importance of socialization and supporting others.
The Amobi Okoye Foundation will accept donations for those in need and will provide supplies to those who need them.
WenNexy will talk with students who are interested in exploring a career in cosmetology.
Preferred Urgent Care will be happy to answer any questions parents may have about their children's health.
Imagine Early Education and Daycare will share programs available from infant to 13yrs.
Spanish Learning Castle offers a bilingual option for students.
Radio station KSBJ will be there playing music and offering support to anyone interest. Magic Funny Mascots, Andretti Indoor Karting and Games, Abrakadoodle K&M Arts, Altitude, Hooray Indoor Playground will have giveaways and/or activities for kids.
Central Green Park, developed by Willow Fork Drainage District (WFDD,) is located at the south end of LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. It is a true entertainment destination close to shopping dining, theaters, and libraries. The park provides a multi-purpose venue for many standing weekly events, monthly events, special events, and more.
