Can't-miss Katy Events for Holiday Magic

Kick off the holiday season with tree lightings, pictures with Santa Claus, and holiday shopping sprees! Throughout Katy, kids of all ages can enjoy the magic of Christmas. Check out these special events and mark your calendars now.

Exciting holiday activites are scheduled throughout December in Katy. Each event promotes social distancing and requires participants to wear masks while keeping the spirit of the season alive!



Christmas Crew Cruise-Thru

Katy City Hall

901 Avenue C

Friday, December 4, 6 – 8 p.m.


This Friday, the City of Katy's official Christmas Tree will be lit for the first time. Members of the community are invited to “cruise” by City Hall to wave to Santa and his friends. Santa will be distributing goodie bags to each passing vehicle (while supplies last).


Children are encouraged to bring their Christmas Wish List to mail to the North Pole.


Organizers will also be collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots.

Treasures in the Attic

St. Peter’s United Methodist Church

Wesley Student Center

Saturday, December 12, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. ***MOVED FROM DECEMBER 5***


Children are invited to shop for gifts for their families at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church’s annual Treasures in the Attic event. Parents will wait in the lobby while children, accompanied by their own personal shopper, select gifts, and have them wrapped.

Candy Cane Market

2100 Cane Island Parkway

Saturday, December 5, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.


The Candy Cane Market at Cane Island features the Real Craftwives of Katy, pictures with Santa, and other holiday activities. Local vendors will be selling handcrafted jewelry, custom clothing and accessories, fun items for the home, and other unique finds.

Gourmet food truck cuisine will be onsite, and the community’s full-service restaurant, The Oaks Kitchen and Bar, will be open.


Admission and onsite parking is free.

Storytime with Santa

LaCenterra Heritage Square

Tuesdays and Saturdays through December 19


Mark your calendars for Storytime with Santa presented by Texas Children’s Hospital, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, now until December 19. Santa will welcome guests at Heritage Square, the green area by Dish Society.


All guests are required to wear a face mask or covering during the event and must practice social distancing, also called “physical distancing,” which means keeping six-feet (about two arm lengths) distance between yourself and other people who are not from your household.


Tickets are $25 for up to four people and include one LaCenterra blanket and a Nestle Toll House cookie pack.


All ticket proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization Children's Miracle Network.
