Katy Cyclist Struck and Killed
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, a Katy cyclist was struck at the 900 block of South Mason Road, just south of Cimarron Parkway around 11:30 p.m. The victim was male (66) and was struck by vehicle from the rear. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is currently no information on the striking vehicle and no cameras were found last night.
“We will follow-up today with businesses that were closed,” says Sheriff Gonzalez. “Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477.)”
As Katy continues to grow, traffic also grows and so does crime.

“Cyclist must be very aware while riding and should never assume drivers will see them,” says Fort Bend County Constable Chad Norvell, who recently filed for re-election. “Riders should try to make eye contact with a motorist to ensure they see them before turning in front of them.”
Katy Magazine extends their thoughts and prayers to the cyclist’s family.
