Authorities Arrest Man for Shooting Katy 17-year-old in the Face

Austin Robles of Katy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The 21-year-old admitted to shooting a 17-year-old Katy boy in the face on Tuesday.


Shots Fired in Katy Subdivision

Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies and Sheriff Troy Nehls responded to a reported shooting at the 6300 block of Grayson Bend Dr. in the Westheimer Lakes subdivision on Tuesday, February 11 around 8:15 p.m.


A 17-year-old boy had walked out of his house to meet three people he had connected with on social media. A silver Dodge SUV pulled up with one male and two females. Shortly afterward, the teen was shot in the face.


The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious facial injuries.


Investigators Canvased the Scene, Shared Vehicle Description

Shortly after the deputies arrived at the scene, they investigated security cameras, looked in trash cans, and searched the ground for shell casings.

The FBCSO's reported that Robles' bond has been set at $75,000.


"I commend our detectives for their speedy arrest in this case," says Sheriff Nehls.
