Ongoing Investigation
The investigation is ongoing after two women were found deceased inside a Katy home. A Harris County Sheriff’s Office unit responded to a welfare check Monday, October 10, 2022. The home was at the 4900 block of Gingham Check Court, which is between North Fry Road and Westfield Village Drive.
Sheriff Gonzalez’s initial post was made at 7:25 p.m. He later updated his post to include that the two women were mother and daughter.
According to authorities, family members called for the welfare check when they grew concerned over not hearing from the women. The mother was in her 60’s and the daughter was in her 30’s. Both had a history of drug abuse and pill bottles were found at the scene.
At least one of the women showed signs of a trauma though a cause of death wasn’t clear. Cause of death is pending the medical examiners investigation.
This is an ongoing investigation.
