Katy ISD is the number one Houston-area public school district going into the 2019-2020 school year. The rankings are based on evaluations of various statistics, reviews from parents and students, and data from the U.S. Department of Education. See if your favorite Katy school topped its list.
Katy ISD has a lot to celebrate going into its 101st year. In addition to being the top Houston-area district, Katy elementary schools swept the top five spots in their ranking. Ranking factors include state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district. Katy junior highs and high schools also did very well. See the top five ranked Katy schools.
Top Houston Area Public Elementary Schools
1. Keiko Davidson Elementary
26906 Pine Mill Ranch Drive
The Davidson Dragons opened their doors in 2014. They are named after Keiko Davidson, a veteran KISD teacher and administrator. This year students will be able to play on their new playground, all-inclusive and the largest ADA accessible play area in the district.
2. Hazel S. Pattison Elementary
19910 Stonelodge Street
Since opening in 1989, the Pattison Colts always grace the highest ranking lists. They live up to their theme, "Building the Next Legacy."
3. Stanley C. Stanley Elementary
26633 Cinco Terrace Drive
Named after Stan C. Stanley, a dedicated leader in Katy ISD, and his wife Patsy, who worked toward the growth and future of Stanley Stampedes.
4. Fred and Patti Shafer Elementary
5150 Ranch Point Drive
The Shafers are longtime educators and supporters of Katy students. They were a perfect pair to inspire the name of this frequently high-ranked Katy school.
5. Tom Wilson Elementary
5200 Falcon Landing Boulevard
The Wilson Wolfpack are named for Tom Wilson. Wilson was a Katy teacher and administrator. Throughout the year students see him walking the halls and greeting them as a continued role model.

Top Houston Area Public Junior High Schools
1. Beckendorff Junior High
8200 South Fry Road
In 2004, Beckendorff opened its doors as the tenth junior high in Katy. The school often leads the pack in rankings and continually sets high standards for the district.
2. Roger and Ellen Beck Junior High
5200 South Fry Road
The Bulldogs opened their doors in 1996 and are named after long-time educators Roger and Ellen Beck. In addition to many accolades, Beck students routinely rank with some of the highest STAAR scores in the state of Texas.
4. Seven Lakes Junior High
6026 Katy-Gaston Road
Established in 2012, the Spartans partner with the community, parents, and students to make it the leading school that it is today.
5. WoodCreek Junior High
1801 Woodcreek Bend Lane
Entering its 12th year, the Timberwolves continue to lead in STAAR testing, academics, athletics, and more.

Top Houston Area Public High Schools
4. Seven Lakes High School
9251 South Fry Road
Since opening in 2005, the Seven Lakes High School Spartans have developed traditions that demonstrate excellence in academics, athletics, and fine arts.
