Teenage Girl Found Through Human Trafficking Investigation
Constable Ted Heap’s Major Offenders Division arrested Anthony Charles Jefferson, 31, this week on charges of human trafficking and compelling prostitution. As part of their investigation they rescued a teenage female runaway. She had been missing for several months from the Dallas area.
Constable Heap Stresses Seriousness of Crime
“Sexual trafficking is a serious and despicable crime. Those involved in trafficking often prey upon teens such as this one, who find themselves in vulnerable situations without the means to escape,” said Constable Heap. “Our deputies will do all they can to get these victims to a safe place and to bring those responsible for these crimes to justice.”
Arrested from a Katy Apartment
Jefferson was arrested at a Katy apartment complex after investigators determined that he was forcing the 17-year-old girl to serve as a prostitute in Dallas and Houston.
The teenage victim was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation and is now in the care of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Suspect is from Houston
According to Jefferson’s Facebook page he is from Houston. He graduated from Jersey Village High School and studied at Sam Houston State University.
