The Katy ISD Transportation Department has added something new to all of its buses. All bus routes for the 2019 – 2020 school year will be equipped with GPS trackers. With the new GPS, parents, campuses and transportation personnel will be able to track buses in real-time through a downloadable application from Edulog.
Parents who have children riding buses in Katy ISD can visit the Bus Track with Edulog Lite website. There they can find information about the app’s abilities and how to download the app.
What this app can do:
· Tell you via push notification (if app is open) when your child's bus is within a certain distance from their stop
· Show you where the bus is on its route
· Allow you to track multiple buses for multiple children
What this app cannot do:
· Tell you if your child is on the bus
· Tell you when your child gets off the bus
· Notify you of the bus's arrival at a stop if the app is not open
· Send text messages
Getting Started with the App
Download the Edulog Parent Portal Lite app on your mobile device.
Download through Google Play Store or iTunes App Store to install the app.
Use the specific campus code provided by your school via email. These codes will be emailed to parents of eligible bus riders at the beginning of August. Please contact your child's school to obtain the district code to use in the application.
Follow the step by step instructions on how to download the app and use its features.

How is Transportation Eligibility Determined?
To check if your address is part of the Katy ISD bus route, click this link.
Enter your home address and student's grade level and select "GO."
If the status says "ELIGIBLE," click on the student's school to reveal the pick up and drop off times and locations.
Katy ISD determines eligibility for bus service based on data obtained from the Edulog system. The Edulog system allows for the incorporation of GIS (Geographic Information System) and parcel data. This system establishes the most accurate measurement for eligibility purposes.
Transportation is available to elementary students residing greater than a half-mile radius, and secondary students residing greater than a one-mile radius, from the patron’s property line to the nearest school property line.
More information regarding eligibility, along with exceptions to the eligibility standards can be found here.
Questions about Transportation Eligibility?
Katy ISD Transportation makes every effort to avoid inaccuracies. If you feel an error has occurred, please contact the Transportation center via email. A Transportation Specialist will investigate your request, verify the specific measurements, and send you an email response. If it is determined that a mistake has occurred, necessary changes will be made and transportation will be provided.
