Katy ISD schools continue their quest for excellence. This year, 24 (out of 65) schools in the district were named a Texas Honor Roll School by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP).
The ERP, a nonprofit organization, applies data science to identify strategies that accelerate student success. After an extensive analysis of student data, ERP found 24 Katy ISD schools were clear leaders in getting students to grade level and beyond.
“Receiving this prestigious recognition is a clear demonstration of how hard work and dedication produces positive results,” says Christine Caskey, Ed.D., Chief Academic Officer.
The 2018-19 Texas Honor Roll recognizes public elementary, middle and high schools that consistently demonstrate high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in student outcomes over time and a closing of the achievement gaps.
The 2018-19 Texas Honor Roll includes:
Elementary Schools
Alexander Elementary, Creech Elementary, Griffin Elementary, Holland Elementary, Kilpatrick Elementary, Randolph Elementary, Shafer Elementary, Stanley Elementary, Williams Elementary, Wilson Elementary, Wolman Elementary
Junior High Schools
Beck Junior High, Beckendorff Junior High, Katy Junior High, McMeans Junior High, Memorial Parkway Junior High, Seven Lakes Junior High, Tays Junior High, WoodCreek Junior High
High Schools
Cinco Ranch High, Mayde Creek High, Seven Lakes High, Taylor High, Tompkins High
To evaluate the high schools, the Texas Honor Roll recognition includes measures of college readiness. This year, the program recognized 855 higher performing schools across the state. These schools become an accepted example to other school districts seeking to learn and replicate the best practices employed at these campuses.
“It’s a reflection of the collaborative efforts taking place among our school leaders, staff, parents, students and the community who strive to increase academic achievement and improve educational outcomes for all our students,” says Caskey.
Katy ISD schools will be provided with a banner to display at their campus.
