Bradley Britton, a Seven Lakes High School teacher and coach, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of child pornography on a personal device. Britton, 33, was a U.S. history teacher and also coached girls basketball at the school.
Records show Britton was formerly a 7th and 8th grade boys coach at Mann Middle School in Amarillo, Texas.
Katy ISD released the following statement on Friday:
"Dear Seven Lakes High School Parents, Staff and Community Members,
The purpose of this message is to inform you that the District was made aware today that a Seven Lakes High School employee has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography on a personal device.
The investigation was initiated by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in which Katy ISD is a member. Katy ISD Police filed the charges after evidence was obtained today. Providing a safe and secure learning environment is, and will continue to be, our top priority."
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program is a network of 61 coordinated task forces representing more than 3,000 Federal, state and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. These agencies are engaged in reactive, proactive, and forensic investigations, and criminal prosecutions.
