Just moments before the filing deadline today, Rebecca Fox filed to run for for Katy ISD Trustee position 1 against Duke Keller and Sean Dolan. Fox's current position is Board of Trustee position 2 which she had originally filed to run for on January 16.
Her statement regarding the position change is below:
“I have made the decision to move my Trustee campaign to position 1. This decision was made after deliberation with trusted advisors and influenced by community leaders and friends who expressed respect for both me and Lance Redmon. Their disappointment that we were opponents echoed my own. Redmon and I share similar values for this community. It will be a distinct benefit to the district to have both Mr. Redmon and me serving on the school board. I love this district and this community; my actions and stances are always aimed at making it better."
Rebecca Fox has served as a member of the Katy ISD Board of Trustees since 2004, where she has held every position at least once, including twice as president of the Board. Fox is a graduate of the class of 2007 Leadership TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) and has earned the distinction of being named a Master Trustee. She is also a member of the TASB Legislative Advocacy Network.”
The Katy ISD Board of Trustees election will take place on Saturday, May 4.
