As Katy ISD two oldest high schools face off tonight beneath the lights of the brand new Legacy Stadium, spectators on both sides will enjoy a trip down memory lane as the Mustangs and the Tigers welcome the first-ever Katy ISD Athletic Hall of Honor Inductees for State Championship teams from 1959, 1997, and 1998.
The Katy ISD Athletic Hall of Honor recognizes selected sports teams in their particular athletic fields for Katy Independent School District.
Class of 2017 Inductees
Katy High School - 1959 State Champions - Football Def. Sundown (16 -6)
Taylor High School - 1997 State Champions, Tennis
Def. Round Rock Westview (10-6)
Katy High School - 1997 State Champions, Football Def. Longview (24-3)
Taylor High School - 1998 State Champions, Tennis Def. Lubbock Coronado (10-8)
Individual inductees will also be named during the ceremony for their contributions to Katy ISD Athletics.
