KATY MAGAZINE NEWS

Katy’s local libraries provide the communities with valuable services beyond lending books. Visitors can participate in enriching programs like book clubs, children’s events, movie nights and more. The Katy Library is accepting applications now for volunteers to help keep library operations running smoothly.

Katy Library, located at 5414 Franz Road, has revamped their volunteer program for the fall. This branch of the Harris Country Public Library system is now accepting volunteering applications for 12-18 year-olds. Responsibilities for the volunteers include cleaning and shelving books, assisting with crafts and library programs.

Volunteer Applications

Young people between 12-18 years old can pick up an application at the front desk of the Katy Library. Applications must be returned by October 5 to be considered.

Friends of the Katy Library

Since 1973, the Friends of the Katy Library have played an active role in the library’s success. The organization raises funds to support the library’s programming for all ages. They have also funded the Dorothy Bing Library Garden located behind the library.
